Evening beverage: comments

I believe that the current poll should have a comment thread.

The poll: What is your preferred evening drink with company?

coffee/tea/port/brandy/egg nog/cocoa

Does it matter to you, as it does to me, who the company is?

7 comments:

  1. I chose port, because in the ideal situation that would be my choice.

Given good port, others who imbibe, and no need to drive after.

Most of the time, I choose tea or coffee. (And really, by "tea" I mean a tisane, as evening beverages must be caffeine free for me.)

Cocoa is very nice too, but is a rare treat for me rather than a regular sort of thing.

What are your caveats on your poll vote?

  2. I voted for tea and cocoa, even though I avoid both real tea and most cocoa. I love a good cocoa or chai as a quick pick-me-up. Herbal tea is best for lingering over with company at home.

If I’m lingering in a restaurant, I’m more likely to choose decaf coffee.

  3. I picked cocoa because I don't like any of those other things. :^)

  4. Well, and I would choose a port, and probably a cup of (real) tea as well. In a restaurant, I'd probably just go with tea, because it's cheaper, and more necessary.

On the other hand, I'm on a medicinal regimen of one glass of wine an evening, so if I forget to sip a glass of port whilst relaxing after dinner, I have to knock one back when I brush my teeth.

    Thanks,

  5. The results of 8 people voting for one or more:

    Coffee: 2
    Tea: 4
    Port: 3
    Brandy: 0
    Egg nog: 1
    Cocoa: 4

For those who are visiting us, know that we always have tea and cocoa available. We often have port, and we just acquired a small french press as a new way to make coffee.

  6. Where's the brandy love?

By the way, I am really enjoying the polls and accompanying comment threads. It's a lovely thing, and makes this blog even better.

    Thanks,

  7. Brandy may still have a shot (or we may) when we try a morning beverage poll.
