These two photos were taken a few seconds apart as the heron flew from the shallows of our cove to a nearby outcropping. The evening sun was low to the right and it was about an hour before low tide on a calm day, and the water really looked that rippled. The detail on the heron is crisper in the first photo, but I prefer the water in the second.
