15-foot-high flames shooting out of manholes in Harvard Square at 2:30 a.m. I mean, what are the three terrors of the Fire Swamp Harvard Square? Flame spurts, panpipes, and Rents of Unusual Size.

Oh, Lord, no, not the panpipes!
Thanks,

I lived on Dana Street many years ago, when I was still a dreamy undergrad and still thought a degree in 19th C. European history with a concentration in dictatorial and socialist systems would earn me a job. I would have even braved the Rents of Unusual Size if it meant that I could roll around in the Fire Swamp with the Dread Pirate Roberts.
The news story wasn't terribly detailed, but they probably would have mentioned a pirate sighting amidst the flames.
